Our design process

• When starting a project, we begin with a consultation & site visit to understand your brief & requirements.
• A written fee proposal is then issued, for consideration & acceptance, detailing the required architectural services.

*We maintain a valid certificate of insurance for Professional Indemnity, which will be sent for reference with our fee proposal.  For your information, VAT is currently NOT applicable to our fees*

Once instructed to proceed our design stages typically include:

• Measured building survey & production of existing drawings.
• Concept design & proposed layouts for discussion & agreement.
• Planning application preparation & submission.
• Detailed technical drawings & Building Regulations submission, including liaison with external consultants, where required, such as a structural engineer or energy consultant.

• We provide a friendly, personal & professional service, engaging with our clients throughout the process either via meetings, telephone or online discussions as appropriate to ensure your vision is heard & implemented.

• Awarded Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Architecture from Oxford Brookes University.
• 17 years previous experience with CIAT registered practice, including associate partner status (until owners retirement).
• Owner of MJC Architecture, a small friendly practice working predominantly across the Home Counties & Greater London, including Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Surrey, Hampshire & beyond on request.
• Our main focus is creating practical designs & drawings for private residential family properties, including extensions, alterations, conversions, refurbishments & one off new dwellings.
• The majority of our projects are obtained via referrals, recommendations & repeat customers.

• We use industry-standard software such as AutoCAD 2D to create detailed & accurate designs.
